During these challenging days of Corona Virus, my pastor taught from Psalm 46. My brother wrote this chorus based upon this Psalm. I threw this arrangment together to help get the message out.
This is a bit bluesier version of a popular country-worship song. I love the feel of this song.
This song rocks! It was first performed by the band Servant in the 1970's. Back then, my band had the honor of warming up for them when they came to town. This is my version informed, but not copied, from Servant's original arrangment.
This song speaks to my spiritual struggle ever since my spine was seriously damaged as the result of a medical accident. I live daily in pain. Yet God has been faithful, and I do love Him.
I waited is a mid-90's worship song. I first recorded this song as a demo for a church staff position as Pastor of Worship Arts & Administration for a church on one of the Seattle islands. Tamara and her sister Julie sing backup vocals. Keyboards by Rick Siraki.
Many years ago in our marrige, Tamara and I discussed the possiblity of me starting my own business, which meant she would have to go back to work full-time. Then, four years later, I was severely injured in a medical accident. Tamara was stuck now having to work full-time for the rest of her life. I wrote this song for the woman I love, and for the person of sacrificial character that I respect.
While I was engaged to Tamara, I wrote her a song entitled: Your the Woman of My Dreams. Some how, a few years later, i had the strange idea to make a reggae version of the song. I've always displiked the arrangment, but it is the only version of the song I have been able to find so far in my archives. So here it it.
This is an instrumental production of the popular worship song, Lord of All Creation. Play to the end, because I do an interesting arrangement of the chorus playing over the verse...it's quite beautiful! David is playing all instruments and vocals.
This is an instrumental Jazz arrangement of the classic hymn, "Be Still My Soul". I believe the arrangement is quite beautiful. David plays all the instruments.
More Love, More Power, is an awesome worship song that has been a part of church worship for over thirty years. This is a powerful arrangement. David is playing all instruments and vocals.
This is an instrumental arrangement of the worship song, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty. This is a powerful song with a powerful arrangement. David is playing all the instruments.
It is very easy for a vital and living relationship with Jesus Christ, through His Spirit, to degenerated in schedules, must does and have toos. That is what this song is about. Come to a place in your life when you are no longer willing to go through the mostions!
In March of 2024 I found some old demo recordings from the period of around 2008 to 2010. This was a period where I was recovering from my second major spinal surgery. This one was my fusion of my low back. It resulted in my inability to control my left foot. It took a full year of daily theropy to be able to walk normally again. The result was that I played a lot of guitar.
Another oldie that I rediscovered in march of 2024. My equipment back then for recording was quite raw. but still the demo is not bad IMO.
A key phrase of this song is, "You give and take away, blessed be your name!" At this point in time, I had completed two surgeries and could not walk without crutches. These words ring true when life hits you hard.
Take Me Into the Holy of Holies is one of my favorite worship songs and a prayer of my heart. This is a powerful arrangement. David plays all instruments and vocals.
You Are So Beautiful: When my daughter was born, I used to sing this song her as I held her, walked her, and rocked her. She is so Beautiful to Me. Once Christmas we were challenged to give gifts to one another that could not be purchased. I recorded this song for her. David plays all instruments and vocals.
Still My Soul is an original song by David Posthuma. I find it quite beautiful and prayerful. Backup vocals are by my wife, Tamara. Keyboards by, Rick Shiraki.
The song Flood was groundbreaking. It first performed by a band called, Jars of Clay. It was groundbreaking both because it was an all-acoustic rock song, but also because of the unique tuning the guitars used. This is my variant on their version of the song.
"Jesus Bring the Rain" speaks to my life very specifically. We all would like to believe we would still follow Jesus if He allowed difficulty in our life. In 2006, my spine was seriously damaged in a medical accident. I went into the hospital with two kidney stones and came out of the hospital with two kidney stones and ruptured discs in my neck and low back. I was disabled and unable to walk. Iy has taken four spinal surgeries to enable me to walk again. This song is about praising Jesus Christ, even when He allows rain into our lives.
This song declares my life long plea that God would use my life to His glory, and that He would maximize my influence in the world for His Kingdom sake. God's answer has been many twists and turns. But my prayer remains the same: Lord, here am I, send me.
Another old demo recording from the time prior to 2010. I suspect possibly 2007.
